How Much Would It Cost to Get 100 Business Cards Made?
100 business cards is a popular first order — for new businesses, freelancers, people starting a new role, and anyone who wants to test a design before committing to a bigger run.
In this guide we'll show you exactly what 100 business cards cost with us, explain why smaller runs cost more per card, and help you work out whether 100 is really the right number for you — or whether a slightly bigger order would be better value.
What 100 business cards cost with us
Our prices are the same whichever of our two heavyweight stocks you choose, and both are available same day:
| 100 business cards | Price ex VAT | Price inc VAT | Price per card (ex VAT) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single-sided | £40 | £48.00 | 40p |
| Double-sided | £42 | £50.40 | 42p |
Prices correct at the time of writing — see the product pages for the latest prices.
That includes full-colour printing on 400gsm card, trimmed to the standard 85 × 55mm, and same-day printing if you order before 2 PM Monday to Friday. You collect from our studio in Finchley, so there's no delivery charge.
Need even fewer? You can order as few as 50 cards, from £37 + VAT.
Why do 100 cards cost more per card than 500?
Every business card order involves the same fixed work: checking your artwork, setting up the job, printing, trimming on the guillotine and packing. That work takes roughly the same time whether we're printing 100 cards or 500.
With a small order, those fixed costs are shared between fewer cards, so the price per card is higher. As the quantity rises, the cost per card falls sharply:
| Quantity | Single-sided | Price per card |
|---|---|---|
| 50 | £37 + VAT | 74p |
| 100 | £40 + VAT | 40p |
| 200 | £47 + VAT | 23.5p |
| 300 | £54 + VAT | 18p |
| 500 | £62 + VAT | 12.4p |
The key takeaway: for £7 more than 100 cards, you get 200. For £22 more, you get 500. That's worth thinking about before you order.
When 100 business cards makes sense
Despite the higher cost per card, 100 is the right choice in plenty of situations:
You're launching a new business. Your logo, services or even your business name might evolve over the first few months. 100 cards lets you get out there without being stuck with hundreds of outdated cards.
You're testing a new design. Order 100, see how people react, then order a larger run once you're happy.
You're changing role soon. If your job title or number is likely to change, a smaller run avoids waste.
You've got a one-off event. A conference, trade show or launch night where you know roughly how many people you'll meet.
You need an urgent top-up. Run out before a meeting? 100 cards the same day keeps you going until you reorder. Read can I make business cards in one day? to see how it works.
You rarely hand out cards. If 100 cards will last you a year or more, there's no point ordering 500.
When you should order more than 100
If none of the above apply and your details are settled, you'll almost certainly get better value from a bigger run:
- Handing out cards weekly? Look at 300 or 500.
- Sharing a design across a team? 500 is usually the sweet spot — see how much to pay for 500 business cards.
- Somewhere in between? Our guide to a good price for 250 business cards explains why 300 often beats 200.
Is double-sided worth it for 100 cards?
For 100 cards, double-sided costs just £2 + VAT more than single-sided. For such a small difference, double-sided is usually worth it. It gives you space to:
- Put your logo on its own on one side for a cleaner look
- Add a QR code linking to your website, booking page or portfolio
- List your services or opening hours
- Leave a space to write notes or appointment times
Choosing your stock
Both of our business cards are the same price, so pick the one that suits your brand:
400gsm uncoated business cards — thick, rigid card with a natural matt finish. Easy to write on, which is handy if you add appointment times or notes.
Mayfair Ivory business cards — 400gsm uncoated card with a warm off-white tone and a soft, lightly textured surface. A refined, classic look.
